I like the proposals but people need to pay attention to what the CBO says. The CBO already report on the upcoming debt crisis, and yet people do not pay attention to what they say. More transparency is welcome. I also think they should make public the models they use so their results can be reproduced by third parties.
I suggest permanent, easy-to-find web pages with revenue and spending pie charts.
Revenue would break down income tax revenue by tax bracket.
Spending would highlight interest expense in bright red. It would include a ring showing the source of the funds with the deficit also in bright red.
